Avanza 490

Avanza 490 (formerly known as 490 South Van Ness) is a 7-story, Type I building with a total building area of approximately 82,000 sq. ft. It includes 81 units of affordable housing, ground-floor community spaces and a Rooftop Terrace. The development features a bike storage room, exterior courtyard, roof deck with planting space, outdoor seating and built-in BBQ, playground, two community spaces on the ground and second floors, and community laundry rooms on each floor.

The structural concrete consisted of a 1750 cubic yards mat foundation pour, 80,200 sq. ft. of elevated post-tensioned slabs, 15,600 sq. ft. of shear walls, and 216 columns.  In total, we poured over 4,750 cubic yards of concrete, and installed nearly 1,100,000 LBS of Reinforcing Steel.  Special thanks to Harris Rebar, Dolan Concrete Construction, and Interstate Concrete Pumping.
